Beauty Tip : Add Volume To Your Hair Roots

Hi Everyone!
Today is Sunday and I am here again with a beauty tip. This week's tip is How to add volume to your roots after styling.
There are a bunch of products to add volume, but what if you have one of those days where you style your hair, only to realize that it's falling flat around the roots. Then what? Then you employ this little tip.

What we use to give volume is a Volume spray but that's not all, we should do it correctly.
1. Part the top section of your hair.
2. Spritz hairspray along the part line.

3. Dry the hairspray in (really important, hairspray must be dried in for it to work) by using a cool or warm heat (Dryer).

4. Repeat those steps about a cm in towards the center part line.

Result - Repeat 2-3 times and you'll get great root lift.

Hope you all find it useful. :)

Artistry Self Defining Sheer Foundation Review

Aloha Ladies!
Today I'm reviewing Amway Artistry Self Defining Sheer Foundation. The name Self defining sheer is well suited to it because it gives a sheer effect on face and goes perfectly. This foundation was given by my mom to me. As I have oily skin and I needed something which gives matte finish so she found this for me.

What it claims -

This ultra light formula creates a naturally perfect looking complexion while ingeniously responding to your skin’s moisturising needs.
Artistry Self Defining Sheer foundation gives a semi matte finish & stays fresh for up to 12 hours & minimizes the appearance of fine lines with light reflective technology. Offers anti oxidant protection with Vitamin E & acerola cherry compound & defence against environmental damage with Artistry Oxishield Solar Complex with SPF 15.

Price : 1399/-

It's a small square shaped bottle with a golden cap. Bottle is of thick glass and I can see that how much quantity is left.
Here is the swatch without flash, this shade is for fair skin.
Without flash
You can see it's get totally absorbed and gives medium to full coverage with a little sheer effect.
Without flash
  • Gives a sheer effect without containing shimmer particles.
  • Good for oily skin, gives semi matte finish.
  • Shades available for everyone.
  • Medium to full coverage.
  • It has SPF 15.
  • Staying power is really good, don't know about 12 hours staying power because I applied it only for 4-5 hours and it stays for that time.
  • Texture is light and bit watery.
  • It minimizes the fine lines but I don't have fine lines so couldn't say much about it.
  • It has anti oxidant protection with Vitamin E & acerola cherry compound(the cherry possesses anti-inflammatory and astringent properties. It is rich in Vitamin C and over 150 phytonutrients have been found in the cherry)
  • Defense against environmental damage.

  • Expensive.
  • Bottle has an open mouth so hygienic problem is there when you take out foundation on your hand directly.
  • One has to take care about how much amount to take out, it's watery so more foundation can come out sometimes.
  • You must be member of Amway or you can only buy it through a member.

It's best for normal to oily skin as it gives semi matte finish and sheer effect. :)

White Floral-Simple Nail Art

Hello Beauties!!
Nail art takes time and practice. This simple nail art could be done by anyone, specially beginners can try it easily. Making dots in nail art is best for beginners to choose. I did it in few minutes and it's damn easy.

You will need -

  • Two nail paints of different colors, here I have bright red and soft beige.
  • White nail paint
  • Blue nail paint with glitters.
  • A toothpick, here I have paper pin with round head.

1)Paint your all nails with bright red color and after drying it apply soft beige diagonally as you can see in picture below.
2) Put a drop of blue nail paint on a magazine paper and with the help of paper pin's round head apply dots on separation line of nail colors.

3) Make flowers with white nail paint by dotting around the blue dots.

4) I did something different on one nail, same colors but different design.

Easy Fishtail Braid

Sometimes called the herringbone, a fishtail braid is yet another twist on the traditional plait. I think this style is easier to learn on someone else's hair. It's a very easy braid, though it can be difficult to start. Patience is always useful when dealing with braids.

This fishtail braid looks gorgeous on highlighted hairs. Which I am gonna try soon. :D
Grab comb, clip and elastic and start this simple beach braid -
1) Using a comb part your hair to a side you are comfortable with. Gather hair at the nape of your neck divide into two equal sections and hold tight with one section on each hand.

2) Take a very small piece of hair from the outer side of the section on your right and overlap it with the one on the left. For more intrinsic braid, keep these overlapping sections small.
Tip : If you have heavy layers in your hair use a hair gel and dab a little on every tiny section.
3) Do the same with the other section of your hair and continue till you reach end of your hair.
4) You can secure your back hair with bobby pins or you can leave it like me. :)
5) Secure the braid with a hair elastic. And you are ready with your perfect beach look.
Hope you guys like it. :)

Choose The Right Hair Color

So, you want to color your hair?
Hair color sets the stage for your entire look. Matching your hair color to your skin tone is the ultimate way to ensure that your hair color turns out great.
My friend Vini asked me to suggest her the best hair color which suits her best. So, I thought why not post about hair color... :)
First you should know your skin tone, warm or cool? Click here to know about Skin tone.
Once you have established your skin tone you can then use it to find a hair color which bring out the best in your facial features.
Cool Skin Tones -
Cool skin tones are fortunate in that they are able to wear many exciting unnatural colors- lipsticks reds, burgundies and orchids to achieve that new, daring, sexy look.
You should choose colors with the word ash or cool in them, as well as blue, smoke and moon in them.
You should avoid colors with gold, yellow, red and bronze tones as they have tendency to make you look drawn.
Choose Shades such as - Cherry ruby, garnet or burgundy in L'Oreal. You can choose other brands too.

More tips -
Your eyes are blue or green: You can use shades with cool and ash tones, from beige to sandy blondes to brunettes with no red undertones (like plum or burgundy).
Your eyes are hazel : Choose medium brunettes(L'Oreal Medium ash brown) and then add gold highlights.

Warm skin Tones -
Warm skin tones should go for a deep chocolate, rich golden brown, auburn, warm gold, red highlights and golden blonde shades to enhance their sunny look.

Avoid any hair color with the word ash in it.
More tips :
Your eye are hazel, dark brown or black : You can wear the very dark colors including black, medium to dark browns, or golden browns. You can also choose dark reds to bring out highlights in your natural color like wine or shades of auburn.
Your eyes are hazel, blue or green :If your natural color is medium blonde to light brown, try adding golden or light highlights to bring out the best shade for you. Warm medium brunette is the darkest you should go.
If you are a natural light blonde use golden blondes to very light brunettes. If your natural blonde hair has natural red highlights you can use bright red tones or warm reds.

But remember that in the end it is what you want to wear. :)

Do You Know Your Skin Tone?

If you wonder why everyone talk about skin tone because they know that knowing your skin tone and applying that knowledge to your cosmetic and clothing selection can bring out best in your appearance.
There are variety of complexions , all complexions fall into two different skin tone categories - Warm or Cool.
These are girls with cool tone - Light, medium & deep.
These are girls with warm tone- Light, medium & deep.

You can find your skin tone by these tests -

Vein test - In a natural light, look at the inside of your wrist, if the vein appears greenish this indicates that you have yellow undertones and have warm skin tone. Veins that appear more bluish indicate a cool skin tone.

Ponytail test - Pull all your hair back away from your face in a ponytail and thoroughly cleanse your face. Place a white towel or cloth around your neck and shoulders, if your face looks more yellow this would indicate a warm skin tone, a bluish reflection indicates cool skin tone.

Silver/Gold test - If you look better in gold your skin tone is warm and if you look better in silver than gold you have cool skin tone.

Genetic natural color of eyes and hair - As a rule of thumb, normally people with blue, green or grey eyes with blond, black or brown hair have cool skin tone. Cool skin tones have pink or rosy undertones. Those people with brown, black or hazel eyes and have black, brown, blond, red or strawberry blond hair have usually warm skin tone and have golden or apricot undertones.

If after doing above tests you are still unable to find out your skin tone, you may fall into neutral skin tone. Neutral skin tone can wear any color and look great.

Hope you'll find your skin tone correctly.

Mila kunis Eye Look

I'm clearly not the only one that thinks she is gorgeous. I am talking here about Mila Kunis, I fell in love with her in "Forgetting Sarah Marshal" and "Black Swan". She looks AMAZING all the time!
Talks about her eye makeup, she usually has her eyes rimmed with black liner, upper and lower water line, with a subtle cat eye. I think she uses gel eye liner.

I try to make a similar and very simple look that you can do it in only five simple steps.
1) Use a silver eye shadow on eye lid to the crease. I don't why my silver eye shadow looks bluish when I click it. :?
 2) Take an angle brush and apply dark black eye shadow or black gel liner on upper lash line. Thicker on end of upper lash line.
 3) Take a blending brush and buff all the makeup smoothly. Apply kajal or liner on water line and secure with black eye shadow with loads of mascara on both upper and lower lashes.
I hope I get the exact look but can't do exactly what Hollywood makeup artist do.
Do try it and let me know your experience.

Summer Hairstyle : Twisted Messy Bun

A quick hairstyle, ideal for summer day. It's an easy and cute messy bun. Even if you have bad hair day you can try this and save yourself.

What you'll need -

  • Bobby Pins/Plastic or Wooden Hair Sticks.
  • An elastic band.
  • Hairspray (optional).

Okay, let's begin -
There was a time in my life when I never wanted to style my hair by making a bun. But now I like the way all the hairs tied strongly and stylishly without any crunch. I like the messy way but you can also make tidy bun by using gels or hair spray.
1) Simply make a ponytail, high ,low or medium, it's up to you. I usually make medium ponytail.
2) Now twist your ponytail and start wrapping it around your hair band and secure the ends with bobby pin but if you want to use hair stick like me, just push hair stick in messy hair bun in zig-zag motion.
3) Here I also used one more hair stick in blue to just glam the look.
4) Push the blue hair stick next to pink hair stick diagonally, not in zig-zag motion because for second hair stick it will be difficult to make zig-zag motion.

Hope you all like this very simple hairstyle.

Makeup Tip : Defining Eye Brows

Hello Butterflies!
Yes we girls are know how? They look beautiful like butterfly, they roam everywhere beautifully like butterfly and they wear different colors of makeup like the butterfly wears different colors ( I know butterfly's color are natural and what we wear is what? We still are like them..right? )

Well now here is the tip of this week, Defining Brows.
When we usually do makeup some girls use to brush eye brows and few just apply eyebrow pencil and very few girls overlook them.

Brows can make your eyes look larger and more expressive. Fill the brow in with an eye shadow powder with eyebrow brush. It's best choose a shade that matches your hair color which gives you a natural look.
Apply with small, hard brush that's flat and angled at the tip.
Apply eye shadow to the most populated area of the brow to avoid laying down too much color. Finish by combing the brows with tooth-brush or brow brush.
If too much color applied, soften by applying a bit of loose face powder in your correct shade with an eye brush.

Happy Sunday.

Oriflame Visions Lipsticks Review

I love Oriflame's products, they are good in quality and reasonably priced. The Oriflame Visions lipsticks are tiny lipsticks with silver packaging. They have numbers of shades to choose. One can get perfect color to wear from these shades. They are really cheap and texture is creamy. You can see only a small quantity left because I have to apply it again n again.

It has 18 shades and I got only three which suits my skin tone.

I have :
Two Twigs - It's a pinkish shade which looks awesome.
Sparkling Ruby - This particular shade has sparkling effect like it has glitters in it but there is actually no glitter.  It's bright red and have sparkling effect.

Cons -
Easily fade off. Even after taking a glass of water or a cup of coffee can take it off.
But in a price like this I think it's good enough. So I have to re-apply it again and again.

Pink berry with flash

I will buy it again. it's best for wearing when you are at home or just going out for a short time.
You can re-apply it if you going out for long and there is many shades left to grab so I will take it again.
