From The Kitchen To Your Hair

As the cold weather kicks in, many women have hair problems like dandruff, split ends and flyaways.
So if you hair is dry, damage and has lost it's shine, you can revitalize it with a homemade hair mask.
It's a peak time to start reviving your hair for the fall because as the winter increases we started avoiding to apply any hair mask or mehndi.

YOGURT HAIR MASK


This will bring back the moisture, leaving your hair silky and manageable.

Ingredients
  • 1 egg white
  • 1/4 cup plain organic yogurt
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
Directions

  1. Beat egg white until frothy.
  2. Mix with yogurt and mayonnaise.
  3. Massage into wet hair.
  4. Cover with plastic shower cap or plastic wrap.
  5. Leave in for 30 minutes, then wash out with a mild shampoo.
  6. Rinse with very cold water.
  7. Use monthly to moisturize hair.

AVOCADO LEMON HAIR PASTE


Ingredients

  • 1 whole ripe avocado
  • 1 Tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • 1 Tbsp aloe juice or gel
Directions
  1. Mash avocado and add lemon juice & sea salt or honey.
  2. Mix it with aloe juice or one egg yolk.
  3. Apply to moist hair, leave in for up to 30 minutes and then rinse.

BANANA AVOCADO MASK


You aren't supposed to eat it. Instead, slather your hair in this rich mask to bring back its luster.
Avocado
Ingredients
  • 1 medium banana
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 avocado
  • 2 Tbsp honey
  • 3 Tbsp buttermilk
  • 3 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil
Directions
  1. Mash banana, egg and avocado in a small bowl.
  2. Add remaining ingredients and stir until well combined.
  3. Apply to hair from roots to tips.
  4. Leave in for 30 minutes and then wash out with a moisturizing shampoo.
  5. Double the recipe for long hair.
  6. Use twice a month to maintain healthy hair.

GINGER DANDRUFF TREATMENT


Get rid of dandruff flakes and dry, itchy scalp with this wonderful homemade treatment.


Ingredients
  • 1 tablespoon ginger juice.
  • 1 tsp Vegetable oil.
  • 1 tsp lemon juice.
Directions

  1. Press a small amount of ginger root to get one tablespoon of the juice.
  2. Combine ginger juice, 1 teaspoon of vegetable oil and 1 teaspoon of fresh lemon juice in a small container.
  3. Apply mixture to your scalp and let dry for 20 minutes.
  4. Immediately shampoo and rinse hair as usual.
  5. Use twice a week for best results.

BANANA BLEND CONDITIONER


A terrific conditioner for your hair! Use this mixture once a week all year round to keep your hair soft and manageable.

Ingredients:
  • 1/2 banana
  • 1/4 cantaloupe
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1 Tbsp plain yogurt
Directions:
  1. Blend all ingredients until well combined.
  2. Apply mixture to freshly washed hair, saturating from roots to tips.
  3. Leave set for 30 minutes.
  4. Rinse with cool water.  

LEMON MOISTURIZING HAIR TREATMENT


This homemade treatment is great to help treat dry hair and scalp. Use as a shampoo twice a week throughout the winter to keep your hair looking and feeling fantastic.
 Ingredients:
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 Tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1 Tbsp Mayonnaise
Directions:
  1. Blend all ingredients until smooth.
  2. Add 3 Tbsp of shampoo to mixture.
  3. Blend until combined.
  4. Wet hair and use mixture to shampoo.
  5. Rinse with warm water.
  6. Refrigerate unused portion in airtight container for up to a week.  

HONEY & APRICOT DEEP CONDITIONER


The ingredients will help tame the frizzies and hydrate dry hair. It's also great for the scalp. Use once a week throughout the winter for best results.
 Ingredients:
  • 1 small apricot
  • 2 Tbsp honey
  • 1 Tbsp apricot oil
Directions:
  1. Remove pit from apricot.
  2. Blend ingredients until smooth.
  3. Apply mixture to freshly washed hair.
  4. Wrap hair with plastic wrap.
  5. Leave on for 30 minutes.
  6. Rinse with cool water and style as usual.  

COCONUT PROTEIN HAIR TREATMENT

The protein from the eggs and the moisturizing qualities of the other ingredients will revive even the most damaged hair. Use once a week for a month, then monthly thereafter.
 Ingredients:
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 Tbsp coconut milk
  • 2 Tbsp honey
  • 2 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1 Tbsp vanilla extract
Directions:
  1. Mix all ingredients in a bowl with a fork until combined.
  2. Apply to wet hair prior to shampooing.
  3. Allow to set for 30 minutes.
  4. Rinse well with warm water.
  5. Shampoo as usual.
  6. Try to avoid using blow dryers and other styling equipment.
