Best Lip Colors For Dusky Skin

Lipstick can add a glamour to the simple or stylish look. However, many women have a difficult time choosing their best lipstick color. The skin/complexion can make it confusing to choose the best colour which blends well with the skin tone.
If, nude colors can make you look dull and spoil the glossy evening look. So, which lip colours are ideal for dark skin women?

Best Lip Colors For Dusky Skin :

Red: Go for simple glossy red color to get the juicy lips and add sensuality to the dark skin colour. Wine red and dark red are ideal lip colors for dark skin women. You can apply and carry both formal as well as the informal look with style!

Pink: Go for light pink lip color which Rihanna carried off well at an event. Don't apply lip liner. Let the colour blend with the natural lip colour. It's funky and adds a different appeal to the outfit.

Chocolate : This lip colour can add spark to the dusky look and can be carried off well. Rich cocoa colour and chocolate brown colour can be tried occasionally to flaunt the dusky makeup. Even raisin lip colour can compliment the dark skin of the woman.

Grape: Women with dark skin tone can apply grape lipstick or lip gloss with light coloured outfit. Carry the grape lips in evening and dazzle the party look!

Easy And Cute Polka Dot Nail Art

A simple design that is very cute and adorable. This design is really easy to perform just have to careful in making dots.
I didn't decide to paint each nail with different color. But when I posted Lakme Color Crush Nail paint's notd and review, I decided to do nail art on the same colorful nails from the earlier post.

What I use -

  • 5 Different Nail Paints. You can also choose single shade to color all your nails.
  • Dotting tool / Toothpick.
  • 2 Nails paints for making dots. I used pink and white (You can choose any two colors).
  • Top Coat.

Process -

1. Paint your nails with different shades. I choose blue, purple, yellow, peach and pinkish white.
2. Make pink dots in a particular pattern with the help of dotting tool or toothpick.

3. Now make white dots on few pink dots to get the complete look.

 4. Finally apply top coat to secure your work.

Hope you like it. <3

Lakme Color Crush Truewear Nail Paint Review & NOTD

Hello Beauties!
Got a set of 6 nail paints of Lakme Color CRUSH truewear. You can see the shades below I got. Isn't it Colorful?
Lakme Color Crush has funky vibrant range of colors. They don't have the name of any nail paint. Just a number on top.

Lakme Color Crush - No. 02, 60 or 09 (am confused), 03, 19 or 61 (again got confused), 05, 13.
Giving a number instead of name is very confusing. Even SA couldn't explain what number it is 60 or 09.
8| Well Lakme should do something for this confusion.

What is it
Drench your nails in funky color with this vibrant and vivid range that's destined to make your nails as bright as your day.

How it works
  • Fashion forward colors
  • Color-lock technology
  • Includes French manicure shades
  • Pick from 25 shades

Price - INR 125 /- for 9 ml.

This is how brush looks -
Brush quality is quite good.

This is how the vibrant colors looks on me :)

These 3 shades are shimmery. The pink one has very less shimmer in comparison to yellow and light blue.

I have only 5 nails on one hand so this last color No. 02 is on little finger of other hand.

So here are the pros and cons -

Pros -

  • 25 shades to choose from.
  • Easily available.
  • Colors are vibrant and funky.
  • Staying power is 4-5 days without top coat. If you do house chores then you should apply it with top coat for the staying power of 5 days.
  • They also have manicure shades.
  • Smell of nail paint is not very strong, so you bear it.
  • I didn't check the time of drying but I think it dries up pretty quick.
  • It has shimmer and matte nail paints.
  • After drying the shimmer nail paints doesn't feel rough when I touched it, it felt smooth like other matte colors.

Cons -

  • Biggest drawback is numbering of nail paints. I got confused for two shades - 60 or 09 (pinkish white) and 19 or 61 (peach).
  • The price can look expensive as it's Lakme and for budget hands.
  • Nothing different when comes to looks, except the silver metallic color of brush handle.

Rating : 3.85 / 5

\m/  I'll recommend it to you girls. They have nice and colorful shades to try out. :rainbow

Natural & Morning Makeup Look

Hello Everyone!

Whether you are a working women, mother of children and stay home mom, student or business women who have little or no-time in the morning to put on the makeup then this post is for you.

So here is wake up and make up routine -
1. After cleansing and moisturizing your skin you're going to start right away with concealer.

  • Start applying your concealer under your eyes and top of your eye lids (This is a very important step).
  • Applying concealer under your eyes helps to eliminate dark circles and really helps to brighten up face.
  • Applying concealer on top of eyelids helps to hide any redness and the very important step to your flawless face.
2. Then, the easiest and quickest way to even out your skin tone is by applying pressed powder.
Apply pressed powder all over your face takes 2 seconds (But if you really need foundation then use it and then apply pressed powder).
3. Next is bronzer, the easiest way to apply bronzer is in 3 motion. You should start by targeting the forehead, cheeks and then chin and of course a light sweep down the middle which covers the nose area to neck.

4. Now choose any eyeliner pencil charcoal, blue, green any color which makes you happy. :)
  • But make sure of using soft eyeliner pencil for easy application. Now apply eyeliner on your eyelid by upper lash line.
  • Make the line a bit thicker than you normally make. So don't worry about being perfect. This is the easiest part!
  • Next take a Q- tip, your finger or smudging brush to gently blend the eyeliner. It will act as eye shadow and eyeliner. All in one.

5.  Last but definitely not the least, you can never forget mascara. Just apply a few coats of deep black and volumizing mascara.

6. Next is the quick sweep of blush, I love blush, huge fan because this gives an extra oomph to brighten up face. You have to start by smiling then apply a light coral or pink blush on apple of your cheeks.

7. And the last one is lip gloss or lipstick of your choice and you are ready to go!

How fast and easy was that. This is totally something you can do every morning and only takes 5 mins.

    Would YOU try this look?

    Winter Makeup - Snow Angel

Winter is in and if you're getting ready for a big night out then you should start digging out that party dress from the back of the closet. But first, dress up your eyes by winter inspired eye makeup ideas. It's surprisingly simple to create by using some familiar steps. These steps require minimal products and just a couple of twists to turn you from looking pretty to gorgeous.
    Look is Snow Angel.
A sheer application of pearly silver is best on fair skin tones, while a denser, more metallic hue flatters darker complexions. Other silvery finishes, such as frosty pink, icy blue, or pale violet, are equally arresting.

    What to Use

    1. A lash curler. (Curler with soft cushion pads prevent lashes from snagging)
    2.Mascara.
    3. Elegant Pearl eye shadow.
    4. Silver Shimmer.

    How to do it -

1: This effect calls for a super-sheer texture that melts right onto your skin, so opt for a loose shimmer or a silky powder shadow.
With a shadow brush, bring the color from the lash line right to the crease. Don't take the color any farther, if you have hooded or mature lids. Ladies with deep-set eyes, however, can bring the color all the way up to the brow bone.

2: Give lashes extra lift with a few pumps of an eyelash curler along the lash line. Or achieve the extra bend with curling mascara.
3: Finally, top with several coats of black mascara, which perfectly balances this bright, icy look.

    Himalaya Gentle Refreshing Toner Review

My experience with Himalaya products is not very good and after a long time I purchased this toner just because I bumped into it while shopping in Spencer. It was cheap so thought of giving it a try.

What it claims : A special blend of herbs that controls excess oil secretion and makes your skin oil-free. It is enriched with Lemon and Jasmine which refresh and cool your skin, Sensitive Plant extracts that control excess oil secretion, and Sweet Marjoram that nourishes the skin, to keep it healthy and radiant.

    Ingredients Include:

    • Jasminum sambac (Jasmine, Jati)
    • Mimosa pudica (Sensitive Plant, Lajjalu)
    • Origanum majorana (Marjoram, Marubaka)
    • Citrus limon (Lemon, Nimbuka)

    Use Directions:

After using Himalaya Herbals Deep Cleansing Milk, pour a few drops of Gentle Refreshing Toner on a cotton pad and wipe thoroughly over your face and neck.

Packaging : Comes in a semi-transparent plastic bottle which is not at all bulky or heavy. The green screw cap makes it very secure & safe. Inside there's another plastic cap with a small hole in between. Although it's a handy bottle but I would surely prefer a spray bottle for a toner rather than this one as in my opinion it's not that convenient.

This is how the toner looks - like clean water, no color.

    Price - INR 70/- for 100 ml.

    Pros -

    • Cheap for 100 ml.
    • Alcohol free.
    • Very mild smell.
    • Gives matte effect.
    • Herbal ingredients.

    Cons -

    • Feels sticky. After drying when I touched my face it feels sticky which I really hated. :(
    • Contains Parabens.

    Rating : 2 / 5 (Just because of sticky feeling I deducted 3 points)

Recommend : I will not recommend it to you girls because there is much better toners out there in the market. I won't buy it again.

Makeup Tip : Best Makeup Routines

When it comes to makeup, ladies, we sure are grateful for its power to enhance beauty and hide little imperfections, but with so many ways to apply it and colors to choose from it can really be confusing!
The many talented makeup artists out there make beauty look so easy, but when trying to duplicate the effort we mess it up!

Here are the secrets to the best Makeup Routines:

    1. First of all, don't fall for the ordinary, be original and stand out in your beauty.
    2. Practice, Play, Experiment. Oh yes, let your little daughter dab in the makeup too, she will benefit from the early practice/play (and then wash her face)! If you teach a teenage daughter to apply natural looking makeup, she won't get her tips from music videos and look like a clown behind your back.
    3. Leave the heavier makeup and dark colors for the evening; keep it fresh and more natural looking during the day. Don't be mistaken Natural Makeup can actually take more work and makeup than its darker evening counterpart. The natural part is the appearance of it.
    4. Don't be scared of makeup, it's not permanent, when it turns into a mess, just rub it off and start the process again. Invest in a good (natural hairs) cosmetic brush set (5 or more), the application is more accurate than with those tiny brushes or the foam eye applicators found in the compacts .
    5. Make sure to have (at least) a powder brush , blush brush , lid brush, crease brush, liner/angle brush, and lip brush. The powder brush is the big one and is used for the powders (regular, bronzer or mineral) for sheer coverage or to set the foundation.
    6. The Blush brush is a bit smaller and is used to apply cheek color, use a caressing motion, not a circular motion (it will ruin the brush). The lid brush is a larger flat brush used to apply the medium eye-shadow to the entire lid (under the brow bone).
    7. The crease brush is used in the crease of the eye, right under the brow bone, use it in a windshield washer motion and a darker color to create dept and a smokey eye. The liner/angle brush is small and stiff with a pointy side, to help create a smooth line along the lashes or to apply color to the eyebrows.
    8. Finally the lip brush should be used to apply lipstick and glosses, for a professional look. When applying powder, dab it on the whole brush and then tap the excess off. Make sure the brushes stay clean by washing them with a brush cleaner every 2 weeks or use a mild soap and plenty of water to rinse then lay flat to dry. Don't ever share brushes with anyone, they should be as personal as your toothbrush.
    9. Buy a few foundation sponges/wedges, wash them often and toss them out when they fall apart. To choose the right color foundation, go to a store that has samples, apply a bit on the jaw bone, this will allow you to match the perfect shade to the face and neck, never try it on the wrist (when is the last time the skin on your wrist matched the face?).
    10. View it in clear day light, lamps can be deceiving. Don't pick a cool shade (pink hues) to apply on a warmer skin undertones and vice-versa (yellow hues on cool skin), it won't look natural.
    • Pick a foundation that won't clog the pores (non-comedogenic) and with SPF to protect from the nasty damaging UV sun rays.
    • Moisturize the skin before applying foundation for smoother blending, or add the liquid foundation to the moisturizer for sheer coverage.
    • Concealers and highlighters should be a mature woman's best friends. It's easier, cheaper and painless way to highlight a facial feature or hide imperfections than to go through "rejuvenating" procedures.
    • Just like artists paint a picture, every woman can use darker colors to deepen the lines or lighter colors to make them stand out. Use a contour powder or cream to chisel the cheek bones or to reshape the nose, and a light reflecting lotion on the cheeks to give that youthful glow.
    • Keep it subtle. Use a concealer to mask a dark circle or age spot (don't go too light or it will give a raccoon effect), match the shade to the rest of the skin or slightly lighter to look natural.
    • To apply foundation, start at the forehead and move down. Blend, blend, blend! Especially into the jawline and hairline, and don't forget the eyelids and lips. Feel free to mix a few foundations (prior to application) to achieve the perfect color.
    • Apply powder to set it for a whole day stay-put makeup. Then have fun playing with color on the rest of the face. Match the blush to the colour you would get when pinching your cheeks, and don't match eye-shadows to the outfit, always go for colors (cool or warm) that match the undertones of your skin. Anyone can wear red lips!
    • There are red shades in both warm (yellowish hues) and cool (bluish hues) colors, so let it be the best accessory for that little black dress. Smokey eyes are absolutely gorgeous on anyone and can work for both day and evening look.
    • Don't assume that black and grey are the only colors allowed for a smokey eye. Any color in the rainbow will do! When skipping on eye colour wear mascara, it's a polished look. Buy one with Lanolin, it's an emollient which improves the consistency and application of the mascara and makes it last longer on the eyelashes.
    • Groom the facial hair, before focusing on makeup. Cut the long eyebrows by brushing them down and holding them with an eyebrow brush (a clean mascara wand will do too), then clip the long strands using small scissors.
    • Don't clip too much, set the rest with a clear eyebrow gel or a bit of Vaseline and a clean mascara wand. Wax or bleach the unwanted facial hair; don't ever cut it or shave it (it's for men), it will grow back coarser and darker.
